Supportive Residential Program (SRP) at Waterston Centre

At Waterston Centre, our Supportive Residential Program (SRP) provides a safe, supportive, and resource-rich environment for men with diagnosed psychiatric illnesses, behavioral problems, and/or substance abuse issues. We partner with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) to ensure our residents receive comprehensive care based on Quality of Life criteria.

  • Legal: Assistance with legal matters.
  • Social: Social integration and support.
  • Work/Education: Opportunities for work and education.
  • Enriched Housing: Comfortable living conditions.
  • Family: Support for family relationships.
  • Financial: Financial management assistance.

Facilities:

  • Accommodation: 15 private rooms.
  • Common Areas: 2 washrooms and designated lounge areas on the main floor.
  • Laundry: Free laundry facilities.

Intake and Referral:

  • Coordination: Managed by the SHA System-Wide Admission and Discharge Department (SWADD).
  • Referrals: Can be made by family physicians, healthcare workers, or concerned individuals.
  • Assessment: Reviewed by the SHA Program Access Committee (PAC) to determine appropriate placement.

Services Provided:

  • Hygiene and Grooming: Assistance with personal care.
  • Support Services: Meals, laundry, housekeeping, special occasion acknowledgment, and banking.
  • Medication: Administration and monitoring.
  • Advocacy: Support with personal issues, collaborating with on-site resource/social workers.
  • Behavioral Management: Addressing symptoms associated with psychiatric illness and substance abuse.
  • Financial Management: Assistance with managing finances and voluntary trusteeship.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Help with scheduling necessary appointments.
  • Spiritual Care: Spiritual support and inter-agency referrals.
  • 24/7 Staff Coverage: Continuous staff presence.
  • Nursing Staff: Available Monday to Thursday during the day.
  • Community Case Manager: Regular contact with residents’ case managers.
  • Essentials: Provision of clothing and personal hygiene products as needed.
