Providing shelter

The Salvation Army’s Men’s Enhanced Emergency Shelter provides short-term shelter services to men experiencing housing insecurity. Those staying at the shelter receive meals, laundry facilities, hygiene products and support as they work toward securing housing and employment. Through a trauma-informed approach, caseworkers support residents as they transition to the next step in their journey.

The Salvation Army Waterston Centre Emergency Shelter provides safe, dignified and temporary accommodations for adult men 18 years and older experiencing homelessness. The program responds to immediate physical, emotional and spiritual needs while supporting residents in their transition toward housing stability, independence and healthier living.

The shelter offers 24-hour supervised services and works with community partners, including mental health supports, addiction services and social agencies, to provide holistic, trauma-informed and person-centred support.

The program aims to foster a safe and welcoming environment that promotes personal stability, growth and connection to community supports, helping residents transition successfully into long-term housing and healthier living.
